    Hello Alain,

Congratulations and thanks for the 1.9 release. Slide Effect is now better than ever! I have waited for the Ken Burns effect and I must say that you have not dissappointed – it is fantastic and well worth the wait. Gradients are a very welcome addition as well, along with the other added features. Though I have not yet thoroughly tested the new release I am loving what I see so far.

The changes to the upgrade policy are well justified with this excellent product, and I have no objection in paying to get more. The product is reasonably priced and represents great value for money and I think most users would agree that they are definitely getting more than their money’s worth.

Thanks again and keep up the good work,

    Jackaroo

Agreed with Jackroo on the new version. In the future, will there be an option for us to control the area of pan and zoom of the object (picture).

    Regards

    Hey thanks guys!

I am really doing my best to enhance Slide Effect as much as I can. Messages like these are really nice to see.

Spnazmi: Yes this is something I can add on the next version (for background effect): Added to my todo list.

    Thanks again for the feedback.

In this release the equalizer is much flatter, even with the same music!
Is there a way to fix this? Maybe a setting?

Yes, the audio filters have been reworked. The equalizer display should be more correct (previously bass sounds were over represented). It may result on a flatter equalizer in some sounds.

No settings sorry, maybe on the next release.

When I said flatter I meant “does not look as good”, weather the equalizer is correct or not. Short of reverting to the old version can this be changed easily?

PS I really do like your product, its just the way I made my preso. It does not look as good with a flat equalizer.

    Ok I understand.

You can still use 1.8.2 if you want to have the other equalizer behavior. I will rework that for 1.10.0 but it won’t be available before several weeks, sorry.

No need to be sorry, that is just the way software development works. I appreciate your responsiveness.

    No problem,

By the way, I may release 1.9.4 next week, I will try to add a settings for the equalizer. No promise, but I’ll give it a look.

Ok I had a bit of time this morning: I added an amplitude settings to the equalizer. It is available on 1.9.4 beta 2. Please take a look into it and tell me if it works ok for you.

(Use “Product Updates” page to get the beta)

    Hi again Alain,

I appreciate your efforts but that was not quite what I was talking about.
Amplitude has obviously increased the height of the equalizer, which may be desirable for some circumstances but it makes the equalizer bars that do nothing (at the top end) even more noticeable.

I think my issue is one of range or frequency response. It is as if the 1.9 series has shifted its response down or that each frequency band is wider. I am not sure, either way I have included a link to a screenshot demonstrating what I was talking about. The top 5 basically do nothing.

Ok, I understand what you are talking about.

I reworked the frequency range in the 1.9.0: it should be more accurate than in the previous version, but the visual feedback is more important than the accuracy for a graphic equalizer.

I’ll take a look on that on Monday.

I changed a bit equalizer behavior in new 1.9.4 release. Tell me if you like it more.

    Hi again Alain,

There was no noticeable difference in the equalizer but after the changes you have suggested you have performed I decided to test it a little more. I can get a few songs with some high end frequencies to make the first 5 bars move in a pleasant looking fashion but generally most songs do not work well with it. The song I was using is “A little less conversation” I am not sure of the author but I think it is a remix with elvis presleys original singing on it. My point is, prior to the changes you made in 1.9 I had no issue with the way the equalizer looked. Other than this tiny problem I love the software.

It is a song by Junkie XL. Very good song, by the way! 🙂

I’ll toy with that song a little bit next week and I’ll try to enhance that.
