I sent an email a couple of days ago and haven’t received a response yet, so I’m going to assume I will probably get a quicker response in this forum.

I just upgraded to the latest version, and noticed when I attempt to open and play any of the sample files, the software indicates an error related to a MagCore.dll file. When I close the program out and attempt to reopen the software it just flickers and doesn’t reopen.

I have to reboot my computer for the software to open up again and use it.

Then another issue came about when I was just working in the software program, and without accessing any files, such as the sample ones, I would close the program out and re-attempt to open it again without success.

I downloaded your SlideEffect.exe Diagnose program and ran it, but not sure if you received any data.

Hopefully if anyone has come across this issue, some help would be appreciated.

    Hi,

Sorry I was out for the weekend.

Slide Effect uses the unified video system of Windows called DirectShow. It is a nice system, but sometimes, if a problem occur on one software (in your case Arcsoft) it may cause problem on other unrelated software.

I googled for the problem. Please do the following:

    1) Go to Control panel, installed programs, select Arcsoft and choose “Repair” option.

If it does not fix the issue, go to step 2.

    2) Install a complete movie codec package like CCCP or Vista codec package:
    http://www.cccp-project.net/
    http://shark007.net/vistacodecpackage.html

If it does not fix the issue, go to step 3.

    3) Follow instructions here: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/magcore-dll-not-found-missing-error.htm

    Hope it helps!
