I’ve exported my Slides from my machine with Win7. I’ve made a copy of the EXE file, and when I run this file on another machine with XP – it starts and runs slide # 1 – when turning to Slide # 2 – it freezes dead – full stop.

    Why ? What should I do ?

    Hi,

    Well, That’s not expected…

Difficult for me to help without more details, can you do the following:

    1) Download the following file:
    https://www.slide-effect.com/others/SE_Diagnose.zip
    – Unzip it on the desktop.
    – Double-click on SEDiagnose.exe
This tool will do some check on your computer and automatically send a report to us.

    2) Is it possible for you to send me the project file (*.SEF) of the faulty presentation? This way I can run it on a low end XP machine and see what’s going on. Please use http://www.dropsend.com service to send me the file.

    Hi,

Thanks for the file. I had a quick look in it, and it seems the show stops on your XP machine just when playing the first movie (in background of the second slide).

Please do the following on your XP machine, this will (hopefully) resolve the issue:

    1) Please update Windows Media Player using this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-media-player
    2) If it is still not working, please download this package: http://mini.intternet.org/cccp/Combined-Community-Codec-Pack-2010-10-10.exe and install it.
    3) If it is still not working, mail me back.

    Hi Alain,

I’ve done your recommendation # 1 – the Win Media Player Update.
I’ve also updated the machine with every other kind of updates from Windows Update.

This resolved the issue completely – BIG THX !!
My SE exe file now runs very fine 
