Just got Slideeffect to replace powerpoint for some presentations that we feel need to be more visual than our competitors are.
Features we need/want
- Wysiwyg text editing, ie what you see is what you get, so you can format the text with bold, italics, underline, bullets (without specifik bullet type text) blockquotes, and other normal formatting stuff for texts, this should work with copy paste
- Paragraph boxes with word wrap, just for aligning stuff better
- Guides: customizeble guides to help with getting a consistent layout
- Crop: All objects should be croppable, now you have to edit every image to fitt perfectly
- Positioning: text object width are now determined by text width not how one would like the text to wrap, worse still the positioning is not top, left (it is center,center to be able to align objects acording to a coordinate, every text objects width is different so entering coordinates for a text object is not usable for align objects to a left aligned x coordinate.
- Drag and drop, copy paste: All objects should have drag and drop, even the slide list to the left. Copy paste should work for objects outside the program, some sort of converter should be put in place,
- Fast editing, editing can get slow with a video background and a lot of objects, maybe a editing view with placeholders for backgrounds and some more complex objects? Backgrounds should be copyable to other slides, if you want to change a video background for 40 slides, it becomes a problem fast because these need to be imported every single time
