Dumb question: did you check the volume of your mov player? (seems to be a dumb question, but one month ago I worked several issues on a similar case before the user tell me the volume was set to 0%)
Strange, it does have sound in VLC Mediaplayer, but not in windows Media player, and also not in ITunes. When I import the file into Pinnacle Studio 14 it does not even show the line with audio.
The audio codec used in .mov export is AC3. It is a relatively new codec and it seems to be missing on your system (VLC uses its own internal codec system).
You can install an AC3 codec (for example this one: http://ac3filter.net/ ) to fix the problem.
